FALSE: Gov Newsom released 4,561 undocumented criminal immigrants to avoid ICE, with tens of thousands more expected.
FACT: This is completely false; the Governor took no such action.
NOT TRUE: California law prohibits jails from turning people over to federal immigration authorities.
FACT: California law does not prohibit jails from turning over people convicted of felonies or serious misdemeanors to federal immigration authorities.
FALSE: California provides unlimited and free health care to all undocumented immigrants in the state
There is no such thing as “free” or “unlimited” health care for all undocumented immigrants in California.
False Claim: California undermines federal immigration law for violent criminals
The California Department of Corrections regularly transfers violent criminals to federal immigration authorities. The state has done it THOUSANDS of times.
California has NOT ‘opened the border’
Governor Newsom more than doubled the size of CalGuard’s Counter Drug Taskforce along the border to almost 400 service members.
