FALSE: There has been nothing to show for the billions of dollars in bonds Californians passed under Prop 1 back in 2014 for new water storage

Claim
Californians passed new water storage under Prop 1 back in 2014, yet there has been nothing to show for the billions of dollars in bonds!

Fact
Approximately $7.519 billion (99.7%) of funds have been committed, creating 20 programs and funding 1,897 projects.
And roughly 80% of projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Completed projects include:
- Los Angeles Flood Control: constructed 11 new injection wells serving as a sea water intrusion barrier, protecting drinking water supplies in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach.
- Fresno City Groundwater Cleanup: constructed a groundwater treatment system for two water supply wells. The treatment system will remove perchloroethylene contamination from groundwater and deliver treated water to Fresno’s drinking water system.
- Mariposa County: constructed a 165,000-gallon water storage tank at Bootjack Fire Station, increasing water storage capacity by more than five times. This project allowed firefighters to respond quickly to the 2022 Oak Fire.
- City of Anaheim: Through a public-private partnership constructed a new stormwater management system to capture and treat more runoff and first flows. This project now captures and treats 74 acre feet of runoff that would otherwise flow directly into the Pacific Ocean.
- City of Santa Monica: constructed a new stormwater harvesting system through a public-private partnership that moves water into an underground tank, instead of the Pacific Ocean.
