This is a fact confirmed by both the Department of Finance (beginning of year) and the U.S. Census (end of year).
- In 2023/2024 year, California added more than 225,000 people.
- Additionally, revisions have been made for prior years. For the 2022/2023 year, California added more than 50,000 people – originally reported as a decrease of 75,000. For the 2021/2022 year, California’s population decreased by just 151 – originally reported as a decrease of more than 100,000.
